Price of each separate translation depends on language, volume of text, which should be translated, depends on time deadline for translation (i.e. urgency of translation), depends on direction of translation (i.e. from which language to which language should be translates a separate text) and formatting as well.

In the field of translation industry specific standard for estimation of translation price exists, i.e. a base unit, which price allows comparing prices of various translation agencies as well as makes it possible to calculate the total price of each separate translation. Such unit, for instance, is not equal to a printed page of A4, but is represented by certain quantity of characters (namely, 1860 characters including spaces). It is considered that this unit corresponds to the quantity of characters of one average A4 page filled with standard font on a printing machine. Together with development of computer technology this consideration is gradually faded as far as text can be written with a font of different type and size, but please keep in mind that we count characters, but not A4 pages, for pricing purpose.

As a general price of translation is calculated proceeding from the original text (i.e. proceeding from quantity of characters of the original translated text). If texts of a customer are presented on a digital medium it is easy to estimate price of translation, for example, using Microsoft Word (File -> Service -> Statistics). If original text presented in a format, which does not allow to count number of characters (of course it is always possible to count number of characters of the original text even counting each one character with a finger or scanning and recognizing the original text using a computer, but it results inappropriate time sending) then the final price of translation work is calculated proceeding from the text of translation applying appropriate coefficient determined by direction of translation.

For example, in order to provide technical interpretation it is required to provide an interpreter with specific skills and experience, whose work costs more, then work of average interpreter for accompanying foreign visitors during their traveling around a city or industrial facilities.
